Top Features that makes the Android
6.0 Marshmallow an “ACTIVE” OS:
1. App
permissions
Android 6.0 Marshmallow gives different
permissions for each application. For example, if the user does not want to
provide location information available on WhatsApp, permission can be removed easily.
If a particular app wants to use a service, such as location, dialogue box pops
up asking for permission to be granted. Users can simply remove the check mark
on the list of permissions for the WhatsApp application. Earlier, in the
previous versions, we had to grant all the permissions at once during
installation, in such cases we never had the possibility of selectively adding
permissions.
2. Application
memory usage
This new feature enables the
users to keep an eye on the memory utilisation by each app and manage the apps
accordingly
3. Fingerprint
Scanner
Users can use this feature to
enable mobile scanner to approve the purchase in Google Play Store. So users do
not need to type all passwords like on the Lollipop operating system.
While we've seen Android phones
with fingerprint scanners, the
implementation was done by
vendors themselves. Android Marshmallow will support fingerprint scanners on
phones natively now
4. Now on Tap
feature of Google Now
This is one of the most
impressive new features to be introduced with
Android Marshmallow. Now on Tap
takes the concept of the smart
assistant Google Now, and spreads
it across the entire OS so you can take advantage of it on any screen,
regardless of what you are doing. All you need to do, is simply press and hold
the home button, and Now on Tap will analyse the information you are looking
at, to give you related cards.
For example, you get an SMS from
a friend asking if you would like to go to watch the James Bond Spectre movie
over the weekend; long press the home button and Google's Now on Tap will
automatically recognise the context of the text based on words like 'movie' and
'James Bond Spectre' and show you useful results, such as screening timings in
nearby cinema halls, or ratings from IMDB.
5. Battery
Saving “Doze”
Doze is a cool new feature
of Marshmallow that puts the users in
front. It is said to be capable of boosting the battery to two fold.
6. The Faster
Charging System
Android Marshmallow has expressed
support for the use of system charging with USB-C. This means that most of the
devices present in the market with this OS will use the USB-C. Google itself
claims the charging process with the USB-C will be 3 to 5 times faster than
with regular USB.
